Soft subtitles vs burned-in subtitles
Soft subtitles are stored in a separate track and can be toggled on/off in compatible players. Burned-in subtitles (hardcoded) are permanently drawn onto the video frames and display on any player or platform.
Burned subtitles are better for: Discord, WhatsApp, Instagram, TikTok, and any platform that doesn't support subtitle tracks. Use SubtitleTools.space to create or edit SRT files, fix subtitle timing, or repair broken SRT files before burning them in.
